Today’s Lebanon in 10 pictures

"Move to Trash" is a brilliant series by lebanese photographer Ghaleb Cabbabé. I guess one could interpret it in many ways. Personally, I see an ironic and rather accurate depiction of today’s Lebanon, swaying between glorified clichés and gruesome reality.

“This series is one of disillusionment, of the disparity between our expectations – the vision of Lebanon we cling to – and reality, says Cabbabé, our monuments may stand ever strong, but their glow dims as the conditions worsen around it. As piles of trash continue to rise, our beloved symbols (and national pride) quite literally go to waste.”
