Lebanese artists call to join the October 8 protest against corruption

In a video trending on social media, many Lebanese artists, directors, actors, musicians, etc. have called people to support the popular movement and join the October 8 protest against corruption and for an immediate solution to the never-ending garbage crisis.

The rain season has started but garbage is still everywhere. If it’s not urgently removed, Lebanon will face an unprecedented environmental catastrophe. While the political establishment is busy fighting itself over the scraps of what’s left from our Republic, totally oblivious of people’s actual preoccupations and needs…

This video reflects the sentiment of an overwhelming majority of Lebanese and it’s a very welcome move.
