This is the country we’re turning into a dumpster. These are the mountains and forests we’re burying our waste in.
These are the cities and villages we’re changing into trash cans. This is the seashore we’re converting into sewage. This is the sky we’re poisoning by burning garbage. These are the clouds we’re filling with acid rain.
This is Lebanon.
When are we going to stop? When are we going to realize the unimaginable harm we’re doing? When are we going to behave as responsible citizen and finally deserve the little piece of heaven we were given to love and protect?
Are we going to wait until everything is rotten, until we’re all sick and dying? Or are we going to do something about it? And say out loud: Lebanon is a not a garbage dump and Lebanese are not trash. Then put our money where our mouth is.
When are we going to save our country from the vultures that pretend to rule it and do nothing but suck it dry and ultimately pollute its very core. When are we going to reclaim our beautiful Lebanon?
