Angelina Jolie, next time you come to Lebanon, please dress properly

Pin ThisEmail This

Angelia Jolie is a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She came to Lebanon to visit Syrian refugee camps. But that’s not important. What’s important is that she wore the wrong outfit.

Some Lebanese expressed their outrage on social media about how Angelina was dressed. “Dress pretty” they wrote, this is Beirut not Kandahar” – it’s important to note that this is not a satire, this actually happened and these words were written, liked, applauded, cheered and shared.

So please dear Angelina, next time you come to Lebanon, don’t add to our problems – we already have so many – respect our traditions and dress properly. Below, you will find some examples that could help you pick a more appropriate wardrobe, more respectful to our culture and way of life.

My eyes are rolling back into their sockets so badly that I think I might have sprained them. There is no limit to dimwittedness.
