Banana Republic?

How do you define pornography?

On Wikipedia we can read: “Pornography (often abbreviated as "porn" or "porno" in informal usage) is the portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal (…) The term applies to the depiction of the act rather than the act itself.”

So, can this unintentionally hilarious video clip by Lebanese unknown (not for long) singer Zeezee be described as porn?

Zeezee means "penis" in French (Zizi). And she sings about her love for bananas!

Throughout this cheaply produced video, she demonstrates her love by suggestively caressing and eating bananas. The lyrics are no less suggestive: “Every time he gives me a banana / it goes up to my eyes…” Not to mention many innuendos about Somali bananas for example, known to be rather big: “The Somali stays stiff but it’s not tender...”

Actually, sexually suggestive songs have been quite successful in Lebanon. Everyone remembers the famous Myriam Klink song about her cat/pussy “Antar”: “In my hand you’re soft as silk / Now all you need is care and milk / Don’t worry baby I’m here for you / Can’t wait too long to play with you.”

While the country took offence when it heard about Lebanese-born young porn star Mia Khalifa, “singers” like these are often invited on TV and some, like Haifa Wehbe, became huge stars and even role models!

What does this tell you about hypocrisy in Lebanese society?
