Lebanon filed a complaint to the United Nations against the garbage island floating in the Pacific Ocean.
Lebanese official declared at a press conference that this island, called the "Great Pacific garbage patch", is illegally and unlawfully competing with Lebanon’s most treasured tradition: trash.
"This is unacceptable, he said, Lebanon has been trashy way before this island was even born." Then he proudly shared with the media several photos of different regions of the country drowning in garbage.
He later explained that it was actually a conspiracy against Lebanon, and that many foreign powers were allegedly involved.
He concluded by saying: “We will yet prove to the world that Lebanon is the one and only garbage nation on the planet.”
