Arabs are barbarians, they say

Today is Good Friday for orthodox Christians. Got me thinking about crucifixion.

Since the cross became the symbol of Christianity, no one really remembers the horrific torture and murder device it was. The agony of the crucified could last days before they finally died…

Daesh brought back crucifixion along with many other horrors. But is Deash an Arab phenomenon? Is the so-called Islamic State the extreme expression of Arab barbarism, as we are so often told? Despite its Islamic name, nothing in Daesh’s modus operandi is "Arabic". Actually everything about it comes from western inspiration: its structure, its propaganda machine, its terrifying efficiency and its mode of recruitment. Even its self-proclaimed Caliph could have easily been called Führer…

Come to think of it, nothing in the other totalitarian regimes that ruled the Middle East (Syria, Iraq, etc.) is Arab in essence. These regimes were of Marxist-Leninist inspiration.

Obviously, Arabs are not totally innocent from the crimes committed by these regimes and these terrorist organizations, but they are merely children (so to speak) compared to the so-called West.

To come back to Crucifixion, that torture device was created and perfected by ancient Rome. The latter was, in every way, the founding mother of the western world. Everything, from the concept of an imperialist Republic to the legal, social, economic and political structures, came from Rome.

Since Rome, the western world didn’t shy away from committing the most unspeakable and unimaginable horrors as shown in the 7 pictures below (and these are only a few examples…)

So when someone calls Arabs “barbarians”, just ask him about Rome, about the Holy Inquisition, about the Holocaust, Hiroshima and the Ku-Klux-Klan or about the wars in Algeria, Vietnam and Iraq.
