When Netanyahu absolves Hitler

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Adolf Hitler wasn’t such a bad guy after all. “Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, Netanyahu said, he wanted to expel the Jews.” But the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini convinced him to “burn them”.

So basically the Third Reich and the Nazis thugs were just pawns of an evil Palestinian mastermind. Without him, the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened. Without him, Hitler would have nicely asked Jews to be kind enough to leave Germany and settle somewhere else. Perhaps he would have even called the moving company himself, then later sent them a welcome gift to their new home…

How perverted a man must be to justify his own crimes by rewriting one of the darkest pages of history – especially one that involves the genocide of his own people. How perverted and foul.

"The claim that Husseini – who met and supported Hitler – was the one to initiate the idea of the extermination of Europe’s Jews has been suggested by historians on the fringes of Holocaust research, but is rejected by most historians, The Guardian reports. Defending his comments, Netanyahu said: “I didn’t mean to absolve Hitler of responsibility, but to show that the father of the Palestinian nation wanted to destroy Jews even without occupation.”"

"Among those questioning Netanyahu’s interpretation of history was Prof Dan Michman, the head of the Institute of Holocaust Research at Bar-Ilan University and head of the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem. He said that while Hitler did indeed meet the mufti, this happened after the Final Solution began. Yad Vashem’s chief historian, Prof Dina Porat, told the Israeli news website Ynet that Netanyahu’s claims were incorrect. “You cannot say that it was the mufti who gave Hitler the idea to kill or burn Jews. It’s not true. (...) In reality, the mass killings of Jews by SS mobile killing units – Einsatzgruppen – were already under way when the two men met face to face. The first was in Lithuania in July 1941, described by Yad Vashem as the “beginning” of the Final Solution."

Actually, it’s not the first time Bibi has made those outrageous claims: “Netanyahu made a similar claim during a Knesset speech in 2012, where he described Husseini as "one of the leading architects" of the final solution”, Haaretz reports.

“Haj Amin was a Palestinian. He brought about the mass murder of the Jews. Therefore the Palestinians were responsible for the Holocaust. Ergo…” wrote Robert Fisk in the Independent. The Grand Mufti, let’s face it, was a pretty horrible man, immoral and racist, but he was a puny figure in the history of Nazism’s epic evil. Dumping the Holocaust on this wretched figure is ultimately an insult to history as well as to the six million victims of an evil regime. It also provides another means of denigrating the entire Palestinian people – whose lands are still being gobbled up by the Israeli government – when the real criminals were neither Muslim nor Arab but Europeans.”
